A place where music provides solace at the end of the day, through gentle grooves anchored in the genres of jazz, downtempo and the indescribable.

After my life-changing discovery of music in high school, I worked in commercial radio in Wetaskiwin and Grand Prairie, then strayed to university for a degree in art and design. But the radio bug called me back and I produced programs for stations in Edmonton and Vancouver.

My career at CKUA began by covering for Tony Dillon Davis’ late-night show, Night Music. Since then, I have had the honour of hosting and producing several programs for CKUA, one of the most precious radio resources on this planet. My official start came in 2001, when I became the host of the Saturday/Sunday Breakfast shows. I suspect this was a circadian primer for my current duties hosting and producing Alberta Morning five days a week.

Since starting at CKUA, I have come to appreciate an incredibly wide array of music from all different genres. I have sat down to tea with artists such as Ron Sexsmith, Roy Forbes, Greg Keelor, Buck 65, Sue Foley and a host of others. Two shows bearing my stamp were Portrait, a program that profiled Canadian artists through interview segments and music, and Three In One, which shone a spotlight on three indie artists each week.

I consider all of life’s experiences an education that I bring to the air every morning. I am also a writer who has published short works of fiction, plus human interest stories on hockey, travel, food and movies in newspapers and magazines in Canada. I am a self-confessed workaholic, though I also tend to indulge my voracious appetite for travel, good coffee, cookies, wine, film and reading.
